It All Started with a Photograph

Photo Restoration

Photography has grown from a hobby to a fledgling career. It has opened more doors than I could have imagined. I've discovered that many art forms and applications begin with a photograph.
On these pages, you will see what I've done with some of my photographs, and what I can do with yours, along with more traditional photography.

My Dad and I; circa 1950

Did I mention my movie career; taking my first make up session with the cool of a future Mel Gibson---NOT

Memories nearly 100 years old...
Gramma Honey just celebrated her 90th birthday--that's her, the little girl on the left. Notice the abrasions in the original print are gone; notice also the added picture in the upper left hand corner on the original that was removed by request of the owner; this "original" is a photograph (taken nearly 70 years ago) of a photograph (taken 85 years ago).
Something old; Something new
My friend brought me a grainy, out of focus photograph of a damaged photograph of his grandparents. "Can you do anything with this," he queried. "I'd like to maybe give it to my Mom for Mother's Day, if you can fix it." You can see the results. I found that, not only to I enjoy working with computer/photo tools and programs, I'm pretty good at it, too. As a technical excercise, it was challenging, and fun. As a gift to a woman, herself in her mid-70's, it was a priceless experience.
My Dad, about age 25.
My parents (both still living and creating at 85 and 83) have a collection of old photos of themselves, their parents, grandparents, and great-grand-parents. This one of my Dad was taken about 1930 when he was a newsreel photographer. Somewhere along the way, it was ripped in half, leaving little to actually repair. "Spinning" the background and doing some minor restoration eliminated the unsightly tear and resulted in a photograph that frames itself.
If you have and old (or new) photograph that suffers from age, neglect, or accident (my dog ate my photograph), and you don't have the negative, it may not be a total loss. Contact me and let's see what we can do.

The Bottom Line

Cost depends on extent of the damage to the original, original quality, and size.

Standard costs are: Lightly damaged, good quality original = $45.00

Moderate damage/OK quality = $75.00

Heavy damage/Poor quality = $125.00
